• Burrawang

    Fall in love with the pretty English hamlet atmosphere of this tiny village with a big heart, renowned for its iconic Burrawang Village Hotel, Burrawang General Store Café and annual Easter Fair. Many buildings, cottages and churches date back to colonial times. The air is crisp and fresh, the starry nights are incredible, and the trees grow grand. Expect to see grazing cows, rabbits, kangaroos and wombats on your peaceful walk around the village.

    Burrawang - the Burrawang Village Hotel is open daily for pub lunches and dinners, it’s hard to beat a cold beer here at sunset. The historic Burrawang General Store Café has delicious coffee, breakfast and cakes.

    Robertson (5 mins drive) - Pizzas in the Mist for pizzas, cocktails and delicious meals; Moonacres Café for breakfast and lunch, sourdough breads, bakery items; Robertson Cheese Factory for all your dairy and platter needs plus a café; the Robertson Fruit Shop is a local gem for seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables

    Moss Vale (10mins) – The Birch is a top-notch dining room for a special occasion; Bernies Diner for relaxed retro shakes and burgers.

    Bowral (12mins) - a huge variety of cafes and restaurants. Café Rosso has the best crispy pizzas in Australia (our vote!) in a buzzy Italian bistro with delicious cakes; for dumplings and wine tastings The Mill Marketplace has great value food market stalls.

  • Things to do

    Soak up the country atmosphere and buzz of historic towns and villages. Walk, cycle, picnic or kayak in National Parks and State Forests right on your doorstep or plan a day out at a number of attractions close by. There are picture perfect golf courses, antique shops, museums, open gardens and art galleries.

    Walks - Fitzroy Falls has walking tracks to the waterfall which plunges 80m into the valley, Budderoo National Park has various walks including to Carrington Falls, or the Bong Bong Track is paved all the way from Moss Vale to Bowral.

    Attractions - Jamberoo Waterpark is a water theme park filled with adventure rides, Illawarra Fly Treetop Adventure is the highest zipline in Australia, Kangaroo Valley Safaris offer beautiful canoeing trips down the river and into Morton National Park.

  • Summer

    Relax by the pool or if you fancy a day by the ocean, Burrawang House is a 50 minute drive to the surf patrolled beaches of Kiama or Wollongong. Or head to Jamberoo Waterpark (40mins) for a fun day of waterslides, or find a cooling waterhole at the rivers in Kangaroo Valley or Robertson.

  • Wineries

    A renowned cool-climate wine region there are 15 cellar doors close by, so join a winery tour or self-drive.

    For a long lunch at a vineyard its hard to beat a fire-side table at Mount Ashby Estate Vineyard’s La Palette Cafe with its French inspired menu (10mins away). A bit further afield Bendooley Estate (30mins) offers dining alongside the Book Barn, with views of the splendid gardens and a fireside tasting room, just perfect.
